A well-established, award-winning RIBA Chartered Practice is recruiting a Senior Architectural Technician to join their Farringdon studio and work on a variety of notable design schemes.

For more than six decades this RIBA chartered practice has delivered projects across the UK, including hospitals, schools, workplaces, transport hubs, retail and homes. The practice is known for combining technical knowhow with thoughtful design, working on both new builds and sensitive refurbishments from multiple offices nationwide. They are now seeking a Senior Architectural Technician to work across their varied sector offering on national projects.

Role overview — Senior Architectural Technician

As a Senior Architectural Technician you will lead the technical development of projects from concept through to completion. You will work closely with Architects, consultants and contractors to translate design intent into coordinated, buildable solutions. You will take ownership of project packages, lead and develop junior team members as well as contribute to the delivery of complex schemes.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead projects independently or as part of a team.
  • Produce technical information for tender packages and construction information.
  • Attend project meetings with clients, contractors and other consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop coordinated design information across RIBA stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Support project delivery on site, including inspections and issue resolution.

Person specification — Senior Architectural Technician

  • Qualification: Degree, HNC, ONC or equivalent in Architectural Technology.
  • Experience: Proven ability to run projects in the UK through all RIBA stages.
  • Software: Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • BIM: Experience desirable but not essential.
  • Technical knowledge: Excellent knowledge of Building Regulations.
  • Detailing: Experience of detailing complex buildings and producing comprehensive working drawing packages.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and coordination skills; proactive, organised and detail-oriented.
