Are you an ambitious structural engineer keen to join an expanding practice? Our client is looking to appoint a talented Structural Engineer to join their busy team in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to work on a broad range of residential, commercial and industrial developments while progressing their career within a supportive and technically driven consultancy.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Chartered Engineers, contributing to projects from initial concept through to construction. The role offers exposure to all aspects of structural design, providing the opportunity to build valuable experience while working towards professional chartership.
Responsibilities will include producing structural calculations and assisting with the design of beams, columns, foundations, slabs and other structural elements using recognised engineering software and current design standards. The engineer will help develop practical, efficient and economical solutions, prepare technical reports, drawings and specifications, and support senior colleagues throughout the design process.
The position also involves carrying out site inspections and structural assessments of existing buildings, identifying defects where necessary and assisting with the preparation of clear technical reports outlining findings and recommended remedial works.
Working alongside architects, contractors and fellow consultants, the successful candidate will coordinate design information, contribute to project meetings and ensure work is delivered accurately and to programme. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams are essential.
Our client is committed to investing in professional development and offers structured support towards Chartership. Candidates should hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have experience using structural design software such as Tekla Tedds and IDEA StatiCa. A solid understanding of structural engineering principles, strong analytical ability and excellent attention to detail are essential, along with a proactive approach and genuine enthusiasm for developing a successful career within the industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected consultancy offering varied and technically interesting projects, ongoing mentoring, excellent career progression and a collaborative working environment where professional development is actively encouraged.
