Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working with an established multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy who are looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to join their growing Building Surveying team.



This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor with 1-2 years' post-qualification experience, or equivalent experience within the profession, to develop their career across a varied portfolio of clients and projects.



The role offers excellent exposure to both professional and project-based building surveying, with particular opportunities across the housing, transport and education sectors.



The Role



As a Building Surveyor, you will be involved in a broad range of work, including:



  • Undertaking condition, dilapidation and DDA/accessibility surveys
  • Acting as Contract Administrator on building surveying commissions
  • Preparing specifications, schedules and drawings
  • Providing technical advice and design solutions
  • Producing professional reports for clients
  • Advising on building pathology and remedial solutions
  • Supporting Party Wall, dilapidations and other specialist surveying work
  • Managing and monitoring project financial performance
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders
  • Supporting the management of client workloads and framework agreements
  • Identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate new work
  • Supporting junior members of the team with technical queries


What We're Looking For



The successful candidate will ideally have:



  • A BSc in Building Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
  • Around 1-2 years' PQE or equivalent relevant building surveying experience
  • Experience across professional building surveying services
  • Knowledge of building pathology and technical surveying
  • Experience with contract administration and specification writing
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
  • The confidence to deal with clients and challenging situations
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues
  • Ambition to progress towards MRICS / Chartered Building Surveyor status
