A fast-growing house building company based in Pontefract (WF9) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Design & Build Coordinator with 3–5 years’ experience to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of construction projects, with a primary focus on residential housing developments.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong contractor-side background who can confidently coordinate across multiple disciplines, including engineering, architecture, and multi-utilities, ensuring seamless integration from design through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the design process across multiple live projects
- Act as the key interface between design teams, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams
- Review and manage architectural and engineering drawings to ensure buildability and compliance
- Oversee integration of multi-utilities (water, gas, electric, telecoms) into project designs
- Identify and resolve design clashes, discrepancies, and technical issues early in the process
- Support project delivery teams in maintaining programme timelines and design milestones
- Ensure all designs meet regulatory requirements, planning conditions, and industry standards
- Assist with value engineering and cost-effective design solutions
- Attend and contribute to design meetings, site meetings, and coordination workshops
- Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control

Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in a design coordination or similar role within construction
- Strong preference for candidates with a contractor background
- Proven experience working on residential / housing projects
- Solid understanding of:
- Architectural design
- Civil and structural engineering
- Multi-utilities coordination
- General construction methodologies
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with common construction and design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Desirable
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Knowledge of UK building regulations and planning processes
- Experience working on mixed-use or varied construction projects
