Conrad Consulting are recruiting on behalf of a well-established M&E contractor who is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team in Edinburgh.

The Role of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, you'll play a key role in the commercial delivery of a range of mechanical and electrical projects from inception through to final account.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the commercial management of multiple M&E projects.
• Preparing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Supporting subcontractor procurement and account management.
• Managing variations and change control.
• Monitoring project costs, budgets and forecasts.
• Assisting with commercial reporting and cost analysis.
• Liaising with project teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

• Experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Graduate Quantity Surveyor role within construction or M&E.
• A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent organisational skills.
• The ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and subcontractors.
• A proactive attitude and a desire to develop within a successful and growing business.

Experience working on commercial, fit-out or education projects would be advantageous, although candidates from a wider construction background are encouraged to apply.
